In collaboration with EnergyCAP, BEE Incorporations revolutionized their energy monitoring and sustainability efforts for their clients. EnergyCAP’s real-time monitoring system, SmartAnalytics, provided accurate and actionable insights that empowered BEE to enhance energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and gain significant ROI for its clients.

The customer

BEE Incorporations is a building engineering consultancy with a 15-year track record. They specialize in enhancing sustainability in the built environment. BEE works across various industries including hospitality, commercial, and residential, with a focus on luxury retail. BEE provides comprehensive green building consulting services for various certification programs, including LEED, WELL, BREEAM, TRUE, GRESB, EDGE, LBC, LCC, Zero Energy, Arc, and Fitwel, along with local standards. They began their partnership with EnergyCAP eight years ago.

Challenge

BEE faced the challenge of justifying the energy efficiency gains and the tangible benefits of the green building certifications they provided. They needed to transition from theoretical energy savings predictions on spreadsheets to measurable and demonstrable benefits.

Process

Transitioning from conceptual energy-saving calculations on spreadsheets, BEE saw an opportunity to leverage technology for quantifiable advantages. After careful consideration, they partnered with EnergyCAP SmartAnalytics (fka Wattics), leveraging their real-time energy monitoring system to gain actionable and precise data-driven insights.

Solution

“When we dive into the analytics using [EnergyCAP’s] software, we can immediately see when there are issues,” explained Alessandro Bisagni, Founder of BEE. EnergyCAP SmartAnalytics provided detailed insights into their clients’ energy consumption patterns. Using these insights, BEE can identify inefficiencies in system designs and operation, unnecessary energy consumption, and potential areas for retrofitting and improvements.

Results

The implementation of the EnergyCAP system led to significant benefits for BEE. They were able to detect and address issues in real time, enhancing HVAC systems for energy efficiency, air quality and cost savings, thus providing greater value for their clients. Leveraging EnergyCAP’s data and analytics, BEE helped one client achieve up to 30% energy savings by optimizing store management, yielding nearly $10,000 in savings. This strategy effectively justified the installation of monitoring systems through compelling return-on-investment evidence.
