10 Reasons to Attend Catalyst Conference

Each spring, we hold a training conference called EnergyCAP Catalyst. This year’s Catalyst is April 29-May 1 in our hometown of State College, PA. Registration is now open!

Based on feedback from previous conferences, we’ve added more hands-on training sessions. Through two-and-a-half days of hands-on training, appointments with staff, and networking with users, Catalyst will help you use EnergyCAP better so you can save time, energy, and money for your organization.

This year, our focus will be on the EnergyCAP Online, Express, and Pro Online versions.

Pro 2011 Desktop users: Catalyst registration and attendance qualifies you for a priority Pro Online upgrade!
Enterprise users: We will not discuss budgets, accrual module, report distribution setup, installing ECE or ECO, the administrator program, or interval data, but you can schedule an appointment in Ace Place.

Here are ten reasons to attend Catalyst:

1. Receive 16 hours of hands-on training and 1.6 CEUs (laptop required)

Sessions are hands-on, so laptops are required. Bring a laptop or reserve one during registration for $85. Please ensure you have administrative rights to the computer you use. We will be available for computer support on April 29 at 7:00 AM. Request CEU certificate during registration.

2. Attend the track that fits you best (Beginner, Advanced, Pro)

Choose the track that fits your needs. Your track’s staff members will follow your track the whole way through Catalyst. A description of the tracks are on the schedule page.

3. Ride the Molley Trolley to downtown State College

After Happy Hour on Tuesday, ride the Molley Trolley to downtown State College, home of Penn State. Dine at a variety of restaurants, shop at quaint stops, or get your picture on the Nittany Lion.

4. Get inspired at the Chaplain’s Breakfast

Hosted by the company chaplain, the optional breakfast is 7:00 AM on Wed, April 30. Listen to a motivational message on prayer by author Chris Heinz. The breakfast costs $9.00; sign up during registration.

5. Unwind at Happy Hour

Unwind after the first day of training at the complementary Happy Hour. EnergyCAP musicians just may jump on the piano and fiddle.

6. Meet other EnergyCAP users

We don’t meet in a “Match.com” kind of way, but whether your organization is educational, commercial, or government, rather meet other users who use EnergyCAP every day to perform crucial job tasks. Share tips and get advice from each other.

7. Visit beautiful and safe Happy Valley

Voted one of the safest and the smartest towns, State College is a lovely place to visit. Set time aside to see the local sights. There is more to us than football.

8. Ensure you’re using the latest and most powerful EnergyCAP features

With software that’s always improving, make sure you’re getting the best value from EnergyCAP. EnergyCAP may do things you never thought of.

9. Consult with EnergyCAP experts at Ace Place

Ace Place is open during Catalyst and hosts private appointments with EnergyCAP staff. Schedule your appointments online before Catalyst or during the event.

10. Listen to a keynote by AEE’s 2013 International Energy Engineer of the Year

Kicking off Catalyst will be a keynote by Steve Heinz, Founder and CEO of EnergyCAP, Inc. Heinz was AEE’s 2013 International Energy Engineer of the Year.

Catalyst probably won’t be the most fun you’ll have all year (we hope not), but if you’d like to use EnergyCAP better, it’s the place to be.
