Taught by Eugene Rutz and Sid Thatham, the University of Cincinnati offers a course on Energy called “Energy, Environment and Society” directed towards educating students of all majors about creative and innovative technologies, local, national, and global practices & policies around Energy. 

Work is underway at UC to use EnergyCAP and CarbonHub for (not limited to) student-facing dashboards and reports that will eventually be used as a part of the course assignments. For instance, students are expected to calculate the energy needs of a location of their choice and then calculate the area of land required if this energy was to be provided by Wind Energy or Solar Energy. Plan is in progress for students to use EnergyCAP and CarbonHub to view campus buildings’ energy and carbon data and use this information to calculate “We’ll need X sq. miles of solar panels to power Building ABC on our campus.” ​
