In addition to publishing software and providing training and services, EnergyCAP, Inc. is committed to doing good. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility Department, EnergyCAP, Inc. founded a not-for-profit organization to help improve the quality of life in developing countries. EnergyCAP, Inc. also has a company chaplain, who promotes spiritual growth to employees, clients, and the community.

EnergyCAP, Inc.'s history dates back to 1980. In response to a growing demand for energy management software when PCs were in their infancy, Heinz founded Omnicomp, Inc. in 1980 and launched the development of FASER Energy Accounting. FASER was first commercially released in 1982 and quickly became the industry standard for utility bill verification, tracking and reporting, and the calculation of the cost avoidance attributable to energy management activities.

FASER became widely used by retail chains, government, universities, school districts and property managers. By the mid-1990's, FASER's thousands of users tracked an estimated five million bills a year valued at $2 billion.  FASER and Omnicomp were purchased by Enron in 1996. Following Enron's bankruptcy in late 2001, Heinz acquired the energy information assets and launched EnergyCAP, Inc. (formerly named Good Steward Software).

Drawing on a combined fifty years of experience in the field, the team created a new line of energy efficiency software products called EnergyCAP. The premise of the products is simply this: "If you could develop FASER all over again from scratch, what would yoGreenQuest_Bulb_noReflection.JPGu do better?" The results are products that are far superior - simpler to use, more powerful and flexible, and easier to support.

Today, EnergyCAP is the established market leader and software of choice for prominent business, government and educational organizations. GreenQuest is a new product, which launched into the marketplace on Earth Day 2009.
